Helping Relationships Heal with Compassion, Clinical Care, and Hope.
Sumith G. Unni, AMFT
I believe healthy relationships are one of life’s greatest gifts. They shape who we become, influence the families we build, and leave a lasting impact on future generations.
Growing up in a culturally diverse environment, I witnessed how unspoken emotions, family expectations, and unresolved conflict affected relationships. Those experiences inspired me to understand why people struggle to connect—and how healing becomes possible when people feel safe enough to be honest, understood, and supported.
Today, I serve as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist under the supervision of Karen Hendrickson-Allen, LMFT, helping couples, individuals, and families navigate life’s challenges with compassion and evidence-based care.
Before becoming a therapist in California, I spent more than 15 years supporting individuals, couples, and families through pastoral counseling and ministry. That experience continues to shape the way I approach therapy – with humility, empathy, and respect for each person’s unique story.

My Philosophy
I believe healthy relationships don’t happen by accident. They are nurtured through understanding, intentionality, honesty, and a willingness to grow together.
My role isn’t to tell you what your relationship should look like. My role is to walk alongside you, helping you understand the patterns that keep you stuck while supporting you as you build healthier ways of connecting.
Whether you’re seeking healing after conflict, preparing for marriage, or navigating life’s transitions, my hope is that you’ll find therapy to be a place where you feel respected, understood, and never alone.
